Direct Painting in Oil

Work from simple still-life set-ups and experiment with limited palettes. Find your own expressive voice and generally complete one painting per session. Great for those who have never painted with oils and those with some experience. More advanced painters can choose to set up their own still life or work from reference material if they prefer. Elaine paints along with the class to demonstrate different techniques. more info
Studio Classes
Elaine hosts small groups at her studio in Bryn Mawr.
My studio classes are relaxed and fun. We usually have 5-6 painters working from a still-life set-up or from reference photos. I work along with the group and give demos each session. You must bring your own paints. I have some inexpensive canvas-on-boards for sale. The last part of the 3 hour session is a group critique which is always supportive and encouraging. on good weather days, there is also outdoor space in the garden available.
