Capturing Italy – Plein Air Painting Holiday  Join me!  

The Course: enjoy a week of exploring beautiful street scenes of Montelparo, and surrounding countryside.  This workshop will be tailored to your individual needs. Experienced painters will love the opportunity to paint with logistical support and to participate in regular group critiques. Elaine will work with those who are new to plein air and cover how to quickly capture the gesture of the landcape, techniques for planning the composition, capturing the figure in the landscape (or villagescape), dealing with the changing light and emphasizing color and contrast.

                 

The location will be Le Marche, Italy, the birthplace of Raphael and Leopardi, whose landscapes have inspired artists for centuries.  It is one of Italy’s most picturesque regions and abounds with stunning, natural beauty - endless coastline, rolling hills dotted with vineyards, olive trees, historic villages and breathtaking mountain ranges.  You will find fewer better places to enjoy and improve your painting.

                 

You will stay in a luxury en-suite bedroom in a beautifully restored 12-bedroomed palazzo which sits at the foot of the ancient hilltop town of Montelparo and rests elegantly between the Sibillini Mountains and the Adriatic coast.   It's a picture postcard medieval setting, with winding streets, well-worn stone steps and shaded courtyards, interwoven between historic piazzas and panoramic viewpoints.  

 

What’s included:  All tuition fees, 7 nights luxury en-suite accommodation on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, house wine with meals, 5 days painting tuition with 3 excursions to stunning locations.  Group airport transfers to/from local pick-up points and transport on excursion days. 

 

NOT Included: Flights are NOT included and must be booked separately.  Insurance is not included.

 Prices start at €2299 (depending on room type) per person based on two people sharing with a €500 discount for a non-painting partner.  Single occupancy is an additional €400 for the week.
